Installation
Introducing our retrofit non-return valve designed for household drainage systems - an essential safeguard against the unwelcome flood and sewage water. This robust device is engineered to be fitted into existing piping or manhole/chamber inlets, enabling free flow outwards while preventing any reverse intrusion into your home.
Why Your Home Needs Backflow Protection
When flood water overwelms the sewer system, whether during heavy rainfall, storm surge, or blocked mains, waste-water can be forced back into the drainage of your property. This back-flow can emerge through toilets, plug holes, floor drains, and sinks, causing extensive damage and posing health hazards. A non-return valve allows only one-way flow (away from your home) and is a key safeguard against such events. Without one, your home risks contamination, costly repair bills and insurance complications.
Key Features & Benefits
- Retrofit-friendly installation: Designed to be pushed into an existing pipe inlet within an inspection chamber or manhole with minimal fuss. No major excavations or pipe replacements required.
- Unobtrusive to normal flow: The valve opens seamlessly to allow standard outflow and only closes when reverse pressure builds, therefore the system functions as usual until needed.
- Proven flood prevention: Engineered specifically for back-flow scenarios, offering protection for homes, commercial buildings and infrastructure at risk of surcharge.
- Rodent and pest deterrent: The reinforced flap includes stainless-steel or treated plate features to block rodents and insects entering via the drainage system.
- All-material compatibility & low-maintenance: Fits a wide range of pipe materials, including concrete, clay, PVC and twin-wall systems. Once installed, it requires minimal servicing.
Why Choose This Valve?
For homeowners and property managers facing flood-risk, this non-return valve offers an effective, cost-efficient line of defence. Unlike solutions requiring major pipe works or mechanical pumps, the retrofit valve slots into your existing infrastructure with minimal disruption. It both prevents flood water entering your property and acts as a barrier to pests travelling upstream. Installation Guidance:
- Open the inspection chamber/manhole safely.
- Identify the incoming pipe inlets (those flowing towards the main sewer). Do not install on the outlet side as this will block flow.
- Clear debris from the inlet, ensure the valve flap can seat freely.
- Insert the valve into the pipe mouth, ensuring correct orientation (flap hinge horizontal, flap facing downwards) and engage the locking mechanism if provided.
- After installation, leave clear access for occasional inspection. Annual checks are highly recommended to clean any build-up and ensure free operation.
